City Center Allentown Announces New Education Partnership with Allentown School District

City Center Allentown will strengthen its commitment to revitalizing Downtown Allentown with the announcement of a new education partnership to support students and families with Allentown School District, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley and Women United.

As the 2018-19 school year begins, City Center Allentown will announce a new partnership to support Allentown children and strengthen local families during a back-to-school celebration at Central Elementary School on Thursday, August 30, starting at 1 p.m. City Center President J.B. Reilly will speak to students, teachers, and parents at approximately 1:30 p.m. along with Pennsylvania Senator Pat Browne, Allentown School District Superintendent Thomas Parker and David Lewis, President, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Central Elementary is one of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s Community Schools. The Community School model supports partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.


City Center Investment Corp., the real estate development company revitalizing downtown Allentown, Pa., has pledged $1 million through its Building Community initiative to match new and increased gifts to United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
